Our paper “Efficient latency control in Fog deployments via hardware-accelerated popularity estimation” has been accepted in the ACM Transactions on Internet Technology. It explores hardware-based solutions for handling time-sensitive requests in hybrid Fog / Cloud architectures. In particular, it introduces a popularity-based acceptance scheme implementable in FPGA for guaranteeing response time in resource-limited Fog architectures under heavy load.
